Based on Jesus experience, when can we expect Satan’s attack?
Why does Satan suddenly get interested in you after you’ve had a real spiritual high?
Look at these verses again. Who was on the mountaintop and in the valley?
WHERE TO EXPECT TEMPATAION Luke 4:1-2
What had God said at Jesus baptism? What did Satan do with that statement?
After 40 days of fasting, what did Jesus need more than anything else?
What did Satan attack Him with?
Why does Satan often begin with something “harmless”?
WHAT KIND OF PITCH TO EXPECT? Luke 4:5-7
What’s so tempting about this?
“I’ll give it to you now.”
“I’ll give it to you easy.”
“Forget the consequences”
HOW TO COME OUT A WINNER Luke 4:4; 4:8; 4:12
What was Jesus’ defense cry every time Satan tempted Him?
CONCLUSION I CORINTHIANS 10:13
Realize that you are not alone.
Realize that God is faithful.
Realize that God is letting only those temptations into your life that you can handle.
Realize that God provided another option for every temptation.
COUNTER ATTACK
If you were Satan, at what 3 specific weak spots would you aim to defeat you?
What specific “way of escape” can you think of for each of those temptations?
What specific steps could you take now, to help insure you’ll choose the “way of escape” over each of those temptations?
