Marriage Minute 1-20-2019 Two Reasons why Marriages fail!
1.) Men and women often enter marriage with “storybook” expectations and limited training. Many marry with unrealistic expectations and have very few caring skills. Marriage is hard work, but very rewarding if done God’s way.
2.) Men and women lack understanding about the general differences between men and women. Did you know that most marriage difficulties center around one fact? Men and women are totally different. They are different: emotionally, mentally, physically, etc.; sometimes so much so that it takes much concentrated effort to understand one another.
1 Peter 3:7 “Husbands likewise, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.”
God gives the man, the husband, the responsibility to concentrate his focus on understanding his wife. If a man takes the time to understand his wife, she will feel loved, honored, valued and respected. The bonus for doing this, is your prayers will not be hindered.
Men, how well do you understand your wife? If you’re not sure, will you ask her?
Prayer: Father help our marriage, that we will understand each other, and deliver us from unrealistic expectations.
